PDF Download"No Smoking" Poster: AB 846 prohibits smoking within 20 feet of any main entrance, exit, or operable window of a public building. "No Smoking" signs are required to be posted by all entries and exits, and CalOSHA places the responsibility of enforcement on the landlord and tenants. Currently, this new law only applies to buildings owned or leased by government agencies, including city, county, state, and federal businesses, including colleges in California. However, it is likely this will eventually be applied to private businesses as well.
